Whatever your important day, we here at First Parish Church are happy to work with you. For ceremonial events, Rev. Christana Wille McKnight can meet with you to create a service that will be memorable and meaningful to you and your family. Should Christana be unavailable, we are able to provide a list of other available ministers. You are also welcome to work with a minister or other religious professional of your choice.
First Parish Church in Taunton has a sanctuary appropriate for child dedications, memorial or funeral services. In addition, First Parish has large and small rooms available at reasonable rates for collations, dinners, luncheons or informal receptions. A full kitchen is available with stove, oven and refrigerator capacity.
If you are not familiar with Unitarian Universalism, please review our Theology page to be certain that our principles and beliefs are consistent with what you wish for your occasion. Our minister may provide a non-denominational service, if desired, but cannot provide a service that is actively inconsistent with UU principles.
A Note on Baptisms: Here at First Parish Church we welcome babies and children with a celebratory blessing in which the family and community affirm their dedication to the upbringing of the child. Unitarian Universalists believe in the inherent goodness of all children, rather than in the concept of “original sin.”
