Hate Has No Home Here Yard Signs
Hate, unchecked, can make neighbors feel fearful and unwelcome in their own communities. The Hate Has No Home Here project reminds us what it means to be American.
The Hate Has No Home Here project seeks to declare neighborhood residences, businesses, and places of community free from hate speech and behavior, providing safe places for conversation, work, learning, and living.
WHO’S BEHIND IT?
The “Hate Has No Home Here” sign project began with a group of neighbors from North Park, a Chicago neighborhood characterized by its diversity of age, race, nationality and ethnicity. Many ties bind the residents of North Park to one another; the most notable is the neighborhood school, Peterson Elementary School, where the student body mimics the demographics of the neighborhood and where educators and families are committed to celebrating diversity. The phrase used in this poster was imagined by a third grader and kindergartener at Peterson Elementary School; Steven Luce, a North Park neighbor and designer, created the graphics; and neighbors Catherine Korda, Barbara Nordlund, Megan Trinter, Carmen Rodriguez, Jeanne Marie Olson and Kurt Peterson secured the translations, organized and launched the campaign.
Signs are $10 each and include a metal sign stand. To purchase one please call the church office at 508-822-2107

Fellowship Auction
The auction is a tradition at First Parish. Our members are encouraged to auction off homemade goods or events that are then auctioned off as a fundraiser for the church and used as way for our members to get to know each other better. Some of last years hits were homemade pies & breads, lunch on a sailboat, New England Revolution Tickets and a Sermon!

Summer Block Party
A tradition that started in 2018, is our end of summer block party. This gives us a chance to reconnect after the summer and before the church year begins. Live music, a bounce house, bake sale and community! We couldn't ask for anything more.

Forest of Light
Every year we fill our front lawn with Christmas trees that are sponsored by community members & local businesses. We light these trees the same night as Taunton's annual Lights On! Celebration and are on display through the month of December.

Star Spirit Candles
The name "Star Spirit Candles" was inspired by an island off the coast of New Hampshire, a one-of-a-kind place called Star Island. It is a place of great natural beauty that helps to melt away stress and leave the spirit refreshed. We hope that our candles will evoke that kind of "Star Spirit" for you -- creating an experience that delights the senses, relaxes the body and lifts the spirit. And, best of all, you can revisit at any time. Pssst... starting December 2024, you can now find us in TWO locations! Our candles are now being sold in-person at the Trescott Street Gallery in Downtown Taunton, sponsored by the Downtown Taunton Foundation.
