Friday Night Social Justice Film & Discussion
Friday June 2nd at 6 PM In honor of PRIDE month, and for the last social justice film discussion of the year, we'll watch and discuss a documentary entitled For The Bible Tells Me So that explores the misuse of the bible to fan hate against the LGBTQ community. This documentary focuses on the lives of 5 families, two in the public eye, and the impact of the bible used as a vehicle of hate and historical misinterpretation. The overall meeting time is anticipated to be 6-8 PM in the minister's office or sanctuary commons, depending on the size of the group. Snacks will be provided, and all are welcome. Annual Meeting All are welcome to join us for our Annual Meeting on Sunday June 4th after service in the Commons. Every year we call upon the members of our congregation to approve our plans for the coming year, including our annual budget and board members. We’ll hear year-end summary updates from our Minister, Board Treasurer, and Building and Grounds Ministry, before casting our votes on next year’s budget, ratifying the Board of Trustees, and our vision for the coming year. Pledge Campaign Potluck Immediately after the Annual Meeting we will have a potluck lunch to celebrate the successful completion of our Pledge Campaign. Plan on staying, sharing food, enjoying companionship and celebrating. Bring your own lunch or a dish to share.
