Small discussion groups are a vital part of our ministry at First Parish. In these groups, we have the chance to gather together and talk about those “big questions” of life in a safe space. Groups are places where we get to know one another, and where you’ll be missed if you are not there. Small group sessions generally take place in six-to-eight week sessions in Spring and Fall.
Choose from:
Soul Matters:Soul Matters is a Unitarian Universalist program that lines up with our monthly themes and allows us to meet and dive deeper into the theme and explore it in our every day life.
First Steps:This brief session meets about once a month immediately following a Sunday service. Those interested in signing the First Parish Membership Book will meet with the minister for a review of what membership means and an opportunity to ask questions before taking this important step. Dates for First Steps will be announced in the Sunday order of service, the emailed Weekly Update and on the church calendar.
Meditation Group Our meditation group provides the opportunity to slow down, take time to come together, practice mindfulness and meditation in this crazy busy world.
Roots Roots is a six-week discussion group for adults to learn more about Unitarian Universalism, explore their own understanding of faith and engage with key spiritual themes like happiness and truth. If you are new to the church, or are just interested in exploring more ideas about faith, this is the group for you! Roots is offered various times trough out the year.
