Small discussion groups are a vital part of our ministry at First Parish. In these groups, we have the chance to gather together and talk about those “big questions” of life in a safe space. Groups are places where we get to know one another, and where you’ll be missed if you are not there. Small group sessions generally take place in six-to-eight week sessions in Spring and Fall.
Roots:Led by Rev. Christana Wille McKnight, Roots is a great introduction to the history and theology of Unitarian Universalism. It is an ideal choice for both new and long-time Unitarian Universalists.
First Steps:This brief session meets about once a month immediately following a Sunday service. Those interested in signing the First Parish Membership Book will meet with the minister for a review of what membership means and an opportunity to ask questions before taking this important step. Dates for First Steps will be announced in the Sunday order of service, the emailed Weekly Update and on the church calendar.
First Parish at the Arbors: The Arbors group follows our theme curriculum from First Parish, but will be held at the fully accessible Arbors building at 10 am on the third Wednesday of each month, except for July and August. This group is open to people who both live at the Arbors and who are in the larger community, and will be led by Rev. Christana Wille McKnight.
